September 26, 2008, in the celebration of National Peace Consciousness Month, the Department of Peace Studies of Bicol University together with the Volunteers for Peace have organized a program called, "Adopt-a-Child for a Day Project". The VfP have invited children from Burgos, Daraga, Albay to be treated with a party, games, snacks and stories. Prof. Marcia Rico and Prof. Ruby Ann Ayo have gladly helped the program as the storyteller. Educating the children the culture of peace by means of story telling is a powerful tool to instill their mind at their early age the importance of love and peace. The place was full og balloons to make the environment more child-friendly.
